Tim Hortons launches new mobile payments

by Christina Peden

Tim Hortons has launched mobile payment options using the company’s popular TimmyMe app, the company announced today.

All customers have to do is register their prepaid Tim Card on the app—available on iOS, Android and Blackberry 10— and they will be set to pay on-the-go. The app now also includes support for Passbook, making it even easier to access your Tim Card on any Apple mobile device.

“We’re continuously working to implement best-in-class, customer-centric technology in our restaurants and the launch of mobile barcode payments enables us to offer the best overall guest experience,” said David Clanachan, Chief Operating Officer, Tim Hortons. “Enhancing our technology so that guests can store their digital Tim Card in their phone for quick and easy payments is an added convenience we know customers will enjoy.”

Customers can also use the app to locate their nearest Tim Hortons location, access nutritional information and virtually reload the balance on their Tim Card.

TimmyMe is a free download available from the App Store, the Google Play Store and BlackBerry App World.
