Xbox One Shipping on Nov. 22

Microsoft’s Xbox One will be available on Nov. 22, the very same day in 2005 that Xbox 360 was launched.

“The culmination of many years of listening to you, our fans, developing innovative technology, and partnering with the best game and entertainment partners in the industry has brought us to this point. There is still a lot more work to do, but the teams are making excellent progress and are focused on launch,” blogged Yusuf Mehdi, VP of Xbox Marketing.

Mehdi adds that the pre-order supply in the US has sold out but the company will be coordinating with retailers to make more available.

Gaming fans will look forward to an upgrade to the Kinect motion sensor, cloud-gaming services and a processor bump up to 1.75 gigahertz from 1.6 gigahertz. The third generation console is priced at $499, which is $100 higher than the new Sony PlayStation 4 slated for delivery on November 15.

Fantasy Football fans will be able to check stats and set their roster before the games begin with a new NFL app plus they can Skype with friends while the game is on and get personal highlights of their favourite teams.

In addition to the Canadian and the US markets, Xbox One will ship to Australia, Austria, Brazil, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, New Zealand, Spain and the UK. Several other countries will be added in 2014.
