CentriLogic Buys Mississauga Web Hosting Firm, The Capris Group

Data centre service provider, CentriLogic said it has acquired managed Web hosting firm, The Capris Group, for $9 million in an all-cash transaction.

The Capris Group, founded in 1996, operates a 15,000 square foot data centre in Mississauga (just west of Toronto) and delivers custom web applications, database development, CRM configurations, SharePoint, eCommerce and web design, in addition to Web hosting solutions.

Robert Offley, CentriLogic’s President and CEO, said: “The Capris Group’s team has 17 years of experience delivering comprehensive services to its entire client base, including several of Canada’s major financial institutions that have stringent uptime and service delivery requirements. We will leverage The Capris Group’s existing expertise to better fulfill our customer’s complex hosting and application management requirements, ultimately creating synergies throughout our core service offerings to facilitate the growth of our business locally and internationally.”

Offley told the Globe and Mail that CentriLogic is looking for other acquisition opportunities in Western Canada and Quebec. In addition to the three data centres it will now operate in Ontario, CentriLogic plans to open another two facilities in Canada in 2013.

Mississauga-headquartered, CentriLogic also wants to increase existing Web hosting operations in the United Kingdom, US and Hong Kong as the global market for cloud computing continues to grow.

CentriLogic reported in January 31, 2013 that year-over-year revenue grew 75 percent and that its customer base expanded by more than 25 percent with the addition of high-profile customers like WIND Mobile, Menzies Aviation, Autodesk, and Wegmans.
