Rogers and Bell Tagged for ‘Possible’ Apple iTV Partnership

Several reports indicate Apple has approached Rogers and Bell Canada as potential partners for an iTV launch.

Quoting from the Globe and Mail, both Canadian carriers supposedly have the iTV product in their telecommunications labs for product testing.

The concept, according to the Globe’s Feb. 6th report, is that “of  a big-screen television that would essentially put a large-screen iPad in living rooms around the world. The product reportedly integrates Siri, Apple’s voice-recognition software that acts as a personal assistant on the latest iPhone, into television sets to help viewers make programming choices.”

While neither of the companies have divulged any further information or commented on the rumours, both Bell and Rogers do have the broadband and television assets required to make the deal possible.

AT&T and Verizon have been mentioned as potential partners for a US launch.
