As reported on Digital Home in early December, Shaw Communications has begun consumer trials of its broadband wireless network using WiFi technology in Calgary, Vancouver and Edmonton.

In order to test out and improve the quality of its new service, Shaw is asking Digital Forum members to try out the new service and then to complete a short survey about their experience.

The survey asks some simple questions such as where you accessed the Shaw WiFi network, how easy it was to sign in, how good the coverage was and how fast the service completed your requests.

To encourage Digital Forum members to provide their feedback, the company will hold a draw among all the contributors on January 16th and will award an iPad2 to one lucky winner. You must provide your feedback and be a Digital Forum member in good standing in order to have a chance to win.

Non Digital Forum members may also trial the service and complete the survey but are ineligible to win the iPad2.

Consumers can trial the service at a limited number of locations, including malls, restaurants and fitness facilities in Calgary, Vancouver and Edmonton. A coverage map showing trial locations along with instructions on how to sign on can be found here .

Read the complete rules and regulations on this Digital Forum thread and then give us your feedback of the new Broadband Wifi network.
