Galaxie Music to double the number of channels it offers

Montreal based Stingray Digital has announced that it will double the number of music channels available through its Galaxie music service.

Currently delivered via cable, satellite and IPTV in packages of 40 or 45 channels, Galaxie will add Canadian indie and multicultural choices along with more choices in popular music genres.

After the new additions, Galaxie will offer 100 music channels. Details of the new channels, when they would be available to Canadian listener, or which cable, iptv or satellite TV providers would be carrying the full list of channels was not announced.

Stingray says the Galaxy music service is now available to more than 10 million homes in Canada, another 10 million homes across Europe, and to an increasing number of homes in the US..

“These new channels cover new genres that our customers have been asking for and more options in the most popular music categories.” said Stingray president Eric Boyko.
