Bell Media Radio signs broadcast extension with the Vancouver Canucks

Bell Media’s Team 1040 (CKST) radio station and the Vancouver Canucks announced this week a new broadcast deal which gives the station radio rights to all Canucks games through to the 2016-17 season.

The all-sports radio station has been the home of the Canucks Radio Network since 2006.

Bell Media Radio now holds radio rights to four NHL Hockey teams in Canada. Other NHL broadcast agreements include: Montreal’s Radio 990 holding the rights to Montreal Canadiens games; Winnipeg’s Radio 1290 and the Winnipeg Jets; and Ottawa’s Team 1200 holding radio broadcast rights for the Ottawa Senators.

Team 1040’s Canucks coverage is led by play-by-play broadcaster John Shorthouse and Rick Ball, along with analyst and former NHLer Dave Tomlinson.

Bell Media Radio is a division of Bell Media, which is owned by BCE Inc. The firm operates 33 radio stations in 14 Canadian markets.
