Curb your Enthusiasm Season 8 begins Sunday

HBO’s Curb Your Enthusiasm returns for its eighth season this Sunday July 10th at 10pm on HBO Canada.

In case you don’t know, the popular show is an American comedy created by Seinfeld co-creator Larry David, who stars as a fictionalized version of himself.

The series follows David in his life as a semi-retired television writer and producer in Los Angeles and later New York. Cheryl Hines stars as David’s wife Cheryl, and Jeff Garlin as David’s manager Jeff.

The plots and subplots of the episodes are established in an outline written by David and the dialogue is largely improvised by the actors themselves. The subject matter often involves the minutiae of daily life, and plots often revolve around Larry David’s many faux pas, and his problems with certain social conventions and expectations, as well as his annoyance with other people’s behavior. The character has a hard time letting such annoyances go unexpressed, which leads him often into awkward situations.

In Season eight, David faces the possibility of divorce from estranged wife Cheryl while continuing to deal with the banal self-inflicted problems of his everyday life. The new season also returns David to his roots, leaving Los Angeles, and travelling back to the Big Apple for a number of episodes. In addition to series regulars, season ten will also feature guest stars such as Michael J. Fox, Ricky Gervais, Jonathan Ames, Bill Buckner, Rebecca Creskoff, Gary Cole, Ana Gasteyer, Michael Gross, Harry Hamlin, Larry Miller, Robert Smigel, Aida Turturro, Mookie Wilson and Jo Anne Worley.
