Corel releases Pro X4 Video editing software

Ottawa based Corel Corporation today announced VideoStudio Pro X4, the latest version of its consumer video-editing software for Windows.

New features in the video editing software include improved optimization for newer generation Intel Core and AMD Fusion microprocessors, enhanced HD authoring, new time-lapse tools for use with photos, stop motion animation capabilities, and a variety of new creative features that let users add more Hollywood-style effects to their movies.

The new software is available now in Canada and the U.S. for $99.99 and $79.99 for upgrade customers.

      is this any good? I am sick of vegas 9 and looking for a new one. I think I had corel on my amiga 500 when i was in jr high school.

        Yes, Corel VideoStudio Pro X4 is very good. It’s something like ‘what toys would a person want to have to make youtube video’. It is extremely fast compared to the other consumer editors, though there are few keyboard shortcuts. It’s not professional by any means, though it does have features built in such as multi-trim, batch convert, and wacom pressure sensitive video recording that you won’t find anywhere else for this type of software. So… just depends what you want. Sony is stronger on video editing… but that multi-trim and batch convert combined with hardware driver optimization updates is golden.
