Bell Fibe TV launches in Toronto and Montréal

Bell today announced the launch of Bell Fibe TV, its Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) service, in select Toronto and Montréal neighbourhoods.

Bell says it plans to have the service available to almost five million Canadian households by the end of 2015.

Available programming on Fibe TV includes more than 100 HD channels as well as more than 70 international channels which can be purchased via more than twenty theme packs.

The service also features a video on demand service including subscription video on demand for movie channels such as TMN, MPIX and HBO.

In order to subscribe to Bell`s IPTV service, consumers in Toronto and Montreal will be required to buy or rent an HD receiver or PVR. The receiver will be priced at $199 (or $5 per month to rent) while the HD PVR will cost $499 (or $20 per month to rent)

In Toronto, Bell will offer six programming packages beginning from $32 per month.

  • Basic – $32
  • Starter – Basic + timeshifting pack – $35
  • Starter Plus – Basic + timeshifting pack + choice of 3 theme packs – $56
  • Choice – Basic + timeshifting pack + choice of 7 theme packs – $70
  • Premium – Basic + timeshifting pack + choice of 8 theme packs + 1 Premium Movie Pack – $95
  • Elite – Basic + timeshifting pack + choice of 15 theme packs + 1 Premium Movie Pack – $110

The Package prices are per month and include a $3 per month digital service fee. Existing Bell customers with phone or internet service are eligible to receive a $5 bundle discount.

In Montreal, Bell will offer bilingual programming packages and French language packages. Bilingual packages shown here begin at $26 per month.
