just spoke with cogeco, they advised me they arent sure whether they will be offering it august 1st but that they have already had a slew of phone calls about it

Should be available August 2011 considering they still haven’t added M Fun HD and M Excess HD which have been available since December 2009.

They had to do this….the quality was terrible on their standard channel. I gave up my subscription around February of last year because of their poor picture quality compared to the HD broadcasts that were available on Sportsnet and TheScore.

TSN2 will be carrying Monday afternoon (evening) games and one Saturday game according to a schedule that I’ve seen.

Sportsnet have NOT shown any HD broadcasts from England (they were widescreen standard definition).

Fully agree and support this move to HD. Standard view was so poor we had been on the verge of cancelling our subscription via Rogers. Might just stick it out now.

Called Shaw, and they said they don’t know when Setanta HD will come, if at all. Watching Community Shield replay on Setanta SD now. Extremely bad quality: low frame rate, occasional loss of signal. I have had Setanta for 2 years (only during the EPL season) and I have never seen the quality being this bad. Almost feel like they downloaded this off the internet.

Hope the “real games” are more reasonable.
