TD Mobile iPhone app downloaded 100,000 times

TD Canada Trust announced today that since it launched its mobile app for iPhone and iPod touch devices on April 14th, the app has been averaging more than 10,000 downloads per day.

Add it up and more than 100,000 iPhone and iPod users have downloaded the financial application which lets users find the nearest TD branch, view account balances, transfer funds and pay bills.

Currently in Version 1.2, the half megabyte app has met with generally positive reviews. At the time this article was written, the app had been reviewed 879 times on the iTunes Canada app store with 444 users giving it five stars, 283 users who gave it two to four stars while 153 gave the app just one star.

Reviewers who liked it, were pleased by the ability to view their account balances online while dissenters complained the app had too many pictures, was too slow and was poorly designed.

    It works well but the TD App team lack Apple’s flair for design.

    It reminds me of the first version of TD Access back in the 90’s. It worked, but it wasn’t pretty.

    By version 3 I’m sure it will win awards — TD’s internet portal and electronic banking is fantastic (compared to domestic and international banks). No reason to doubt they won’t put the same effort into this version.

    I love how the biggest bank in Canada (which is of course mine) still hasn’t put out an app.

    0.5 MB is acceptable for BlackBerry but puny for iPhone & iPod
