Telus rolls out IPTV in Lethbridge

telus_logoIPTV provider Telus TV announced this week that it is now offering service to the 85,000 residents of Lethbridge Alberta.

The company’s IPTV offerings are similar to digital cable or satellite television except that tv signals are distributed to viewers using a high speed internet connection over phone lines rather than through a cable or satellite connection.

Like most cable and satellite television offerings, IPTV services feature hundreds of digital television channels, electronic (on-screen) program guides, access to pay-per-view movies, Video On demand and parental controls. Telus, which now has over 137,000 television subscribers, now offers 390 television channels, including 35 in High Definition (HD).

“We’re thrilled to be able to provide TELUS’ IP-based, all digital television service to the over 85,000 residents of Lethbridge” said Fred Weinheimer, general manager, TELUS Customer Service Delivery.
