Microsoft releases SkyDrive apps for iPhone and Windows Phone

In a corporate blog posting today, Microsoft has announced the release of the SkyDrive app for iPhone and Windows Phone 7.5.

Microsoft says that the new apps will allow users to access, manage and share files stored on their Microsoft Skydrive from their smartphone. The app will also let users upload photos or videos directly from their phone to SkyDrive.

Android app released for RedEye remote controls

ThinkFlood, makers of the Redeye universal remote controller, today announced the availability of its Android smartphone and tablet app from the Android Marketplace. Previously, only a beta app was available from “non market” sources.

Galaxie offers up its music streaming service to smartphone users

Montreal based Stingray Digital announced today the launch of Galaxie Mobile, a subscription based streaming music service for Android and iOS users.

The new service offers Android smartphone and Apple iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch users access to the forty-five commercial and talk-free music channels found on the Galaxie service.

Rdio now offered through Telus

Telus has announced an agreement with Rdio (pronounced ar-dee-oh), a premium music streaming service, whereby Telus wireless subscribers can subscribe to the service and have it billed directly to their Telus invoice.

Beginning today, Telus customers can sign up to the service for $9.99 per month.

ScoreMedia announces a Sports app takeover

Score Media, developers of the popular ScoreMobile smartphone app for iPhone, Android, BlackBerry or Windows Phone, has acquired rival U.S. mobile sports app SportsTap for an undisclosed price.

SportsTap, first released in 2007, is an ad-supported sports app running on the iPhone and Android platorm which offers users access to real time sports statistics and scores from major professional sports leagues.
