In emails sent to former satellite radio subscribers, SiriusXM in the U.S and Canada is offering lapsed customers free access to sixty channels for two weeks starting August 30th.
The free channels include a variety of commercial free music, sports, news and entertainment stations. Sorry no Stern!
Sirius XM Radio said today it will broadcast every game of the 2011 NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championship, better known as March Madness, on Sirius and XM.
Subscrition satellite radio subscribers will be able to hear the play-by-play of every match-up from the First Four on March 15 and 16 through to the Final Four and National Championship game in Houston on April 2 and 4.

In a stunning announcement yesterday, The Competition Bureau of Canada said that it does not intend to make an application to the Competition Tribunal to challenge the proposed acquisition of Sirius Canada by XM Canada under the merger provisions of the Competition Act.
The bureau says that it has given the matter a thorough review and “concluded that the proposed transaction would not likely give rise to a substantial lessening or prevention of competition.”
