World Fishing Network HD launches on Rogers

World Fishing Network HD, a 24/7 digital high definition specialty channel dedicated to, you guessed it, the world of fishing, will launch on Rogers cable on September 2nd.

TVO HD and TVO on demand coming to Rogers Cable

Rogers has added the high definition version of TV Ontario (TVO) to its digital basic package in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).

In the coming weeks, TVOHD channel 580 will also be added to the basic digital cable package in the rest of Ontario.

Setanta Sports HD channel coming August 1st

Setanta Sports HD, a high definition version of the Setanta Sports Channel, will be available in Canada beginning August 1st.

Th station will offers Canadians some of the best in professional soccer and rugby from the Barclays Premier League, the UEFA Champions League and the Aussie Football League.

2010 FIFA World Cup coming to Rogers On Demand

ogers Communications announced this week it would make all 64 2010 FIFA World Cup matches available for viewing on its Rogers Video on demand service.

With nearly two-thirds of tournament matches broadcast live from South Africa on CBC, Radio-Canada and Teletino during the Canadian workday, the on demand option will be welcome by many soccer fans.

Rogers raising cable rates 5% on July 1st

Rogers Cable has begun notifying customers that effective July 1st, it will be raising basic cable rates by 5%, from $29.99 to $31.49 per month.

In addition, the company has raised many of its most popular cable packages by a similar percentages.

Rogers on demand online service now out of beta

After a seven month beta phase, Rogers Cable announced today that its Rogers on demand online (RODO) service offering is no longer in beta.

RODO is an online portal where Rogers Cable, Rogers Wireless and Rogers internet subscribers can watch video from various content providers such as Rogers Media, CanWest and Corus.

Reality Channel launches on Rogers in July

Canwest Broadcasting announced this week it would be launching the Global Reality Channel on Rogers Cable on July 1st.

No it’s not a channel about the trials and tribulations of the Asper family but it is a station that will air nothing but reality programming from past and present seven days a week, 24 hours a day.

Canwest launches MovieTime in HD

Canwest announced today that it will launch a high definition version of its English language specialty movie channel Movietime on Friday, March 12th.

At launch, MovieTime HD will only be available on Rogers digital cable in Ontario but the company hopes to launch with other cable and satellite television providers later in the spring.
