300,000 iPads sold on Saturday

Over 300,000 iPads were sold in the United States on Saturday April 3rd according to a written statement released by the company today.

Apple CEO Steve Jobs also noted that iPad users, on average, downloaded more than three apps and close to one book within hours of unpacking their new iPad.

Viewsonic intros VPD400 Movie Book media player

Viewsonic, best known for their computer displays, today announced its new palm sized VPD200 MovieBook portable media player which lets users view photos, videos and listen to music while on the go.

Features of the VPD400 include: a 4.3-inch, 800×480 high-resolution LCD screen; 8GB of internal memory; Micro SD storage slot and an estimated battery life of up to 12 hours of audio and up to six hours of video.

ViewSonic releases VMP70 Digital Media player

Viewsonic, best known for their computer displays, announced today its new VMP70 direct-connect, HD media player.

To use the device, users simply connect an external hard drive with their favourite music, photo and video files to the VMP70 which then connects to your HDTV via component or included HDMI cable.

WikiReader puts Wikipedia in your pocket

Openmoko has introduced the WikiReader, a palm-sized electronic device which contains text from more than three million English language Wikipedia articles.

The appeal of the device, which features a large monochrome screen and touch interface, is that it is simple to use and provides access to Wikipedia anywhere without requiring an Internet connection.
