Web Browser Share for July

Total worldwide usage in July 2011 for Chrome was 13.49%, up 0.38% from June and up over 85% from the 7.16% recorded in the same month of 2010. The Apple Safari browser recorded a 8.1% market share up from 7.48% in March and up over 60% from the same month of 2010.

Opera web browser updated to V11.5

Norway’s Opera Software this week released Version 11.50 of its web browsing software for Windows, Mac and Linux.

Features of the new version, codenamed “Swordfish,” include: the new Opera Presto 2.9 rendering engine; an improved user interface; the ability for Opera extensions to share cookies with the browser so you don’t have to log in separately from an extension, password synchronization, and numerous bug fixes and optimizations.

Web browser market share for February 2011

The Google Chrome web browser continues to gain market share at the expense of Internet Explorer and Firefox according to recent figures published by NetMarketshare.

Total worldwide usage in February 2011 for Chrome was 10.93%, up 0.23% from January and almost double the 5.61% recorded in the same month of 2010.

Google’s Chrome Web Browser tops 10% market share

Total worldwide usage in January 2011 for Chrome was 10.7%, up 0.72% from December and more than double the 5.22% recorded in the same month of 2010.

Internet Explorer usage continues to fall

Microsoft’s Internet Explorer (IE) remained the most popular web browser in the world in September according to recent figures published by NetMarketshare.

Total worldwide usage for Internet Explorer in September 2010 was 59.65%, which on the surface seems impressive until you realize that IE’s share just over two years ago was 75% and almost 95% at its peak.

Chrome Web browser usage climbs for 20th straight month

The Google Chrome web browser gained market share for the twentieth month in a row according to recent figures published by NetMarketshare.

Total worldwide usage in June 2010 for Chrome was 7.24%, up 0.2% of global from May and more than triple the 2.4% recorded in the same month of 2009.

Use of Internet Explorer continues to fall

Total worldwide usage for Internet Explorer in April 2010 was 59.95%, which on the surface seems impressive until you realize that IE’s share two years ago was 75% and almost 95% at its peak.

Opera Mini Browser now available for the iPhone

After weeks of speculation among iPhone users debating whether the application would be approved by Apple, the Opera Mini web browser for iPhone is now available from the iTunes App store.

First shown at the Mobile World Congress 2010 in February, the browser is known for its speed which the company says is up to six times faster than the iPhone’s native Safari browser.
