Global TV sales up 15 percent in final quarter of 2010
Worldwide television sales rose to a record 77.6 million units in the fourth quarter of 2010, up 15 percent from the same quarter in 2009, according to sales figures collected by DisplaySearch.
The market research firm says the strong gains are attributable to improved growth in developed markets, particularly North America, which had experienced a substantial slowdown during the first half of the year.

At a press conference in Las Vegas today, Sharp announced three new AQUOS branded LCD TV Series with Edge-lit LED backlighting.
Premiering in Canada in spring 2010, the LE920/820/810 series will also feature a new display technology called Quadpixel.

Sony Canada has announced that its new line of Bravia XBR 10 LCD HDTVs which feature 1080p wireless transmission of HD signals is now available in Canada.
Additional features include 1920 x 1080p resolution, an edge-lit LED backlight system, Bravia Engine 3, four HDMI inputs and Sony’s 240Hz frame quadrupling technology.
