Videotron adds 20 HD channels to its Outaouais line-up
Videotron, Quebec’s largest cable television provider, has announced it will be adding twenty new French and English language high-definition (HD) channels to its Outaouais line-up on November 30th.
The new additions were possible after changes to Videotron’s analog service over the past several months.
CRTC clamps down on use of musical montages
In broadcasting decisions handed down today, the CRTC has announced it will restrict the use of musical montages by two Francophone commercial radio stations. The regulator has imposed a condition on Astral’s Gatineau station CKTF-FM and Cogeco’s Montreal station CKOI-FM limiting their broadcasting of montages to no more than 10% of total programming per week.
A musical montage is a compilation of excerpts from a number of songs played without interruption.
