Once again, Google’s Chrome web browser continued to gain market share on the desktop at the expense of Internet Explorer and Firefox in October 2011 according to recent figures published by NetMarketshare.

Total worldwide browser usage in September 2011 for Chrome was 17.62% up over 1.4 percentage points from September and more than double the 8.76% recorded in the same month of 2010.

Total worldwide browser usage in August 2011 for Chrome was 15.51%, up 2.02% from July and more than double the 7.72% recorded in the same month of 2010.

Total worldwide usage in July 2011 for Chrome was 13.49%, up 0.38% from June and up over 85% from the 7.16% recorded in the same month of 2010. The Apple Safari browser recorded a 8.1% market share up from 7.48% in March and up over 60% from the same month of 2010.
