Alberta’s Distracted Driving Legislation goes into effect September 1st

Alberta’s Distracted Driving Legislation (Bill 16) which resticts the use of hand-held communication and entertainment devices will come into effect September 1, 2011.

Similar to legislation in effect in most Canadian provinces, the new law will make it illegal for drivers on all roads in both urban and rural areas of the province to text, type, dial or email using hand-held devices while operating a vehicle.
