Bell releases Mobile TV app for iPhone
Bell has announced Mobile TV, a new Apple iPhone app which gives Bell Mobility customers access to live TV programming.
Available from the iTunes Canada app store, the program lets subscribers watch programming on CBC, CTV, Muchmusic, TSN, SportsNet, the Weather Network and more.
Day 13 Olympic TV Highlights: Canada vs. Russia
Today is what all Canadian Hockey fans have been waiting to see, a showdown between Canada and Russia in Men’s Hockey. According to the hockey experts, the showdown was supposed to be in the gold-medal final on Sunday but now its takes place today at 4:30pm Pacific time.
Other highlights today in include all four men’s’ quarter final hockey games, Women’s 5000m speed skating, Women’s Giant Slalom, Women’s Bobsleigh, Women’s short track 3000m relay and Women’s aerials.
Day 12 Olympic TV Highlights: Men’s Hockey Qualifications
The men’s hockey game between the United States and Canada on Sunday was the most watched sports program in Canadian history with an average audience of 10.6 million viewers according to the Olympic Broadcast Media Consortium.
Peaking at 13 million viewers, the game was watched in part by nearly two in three Canadians, or 21.5 million viewers (64.3% of the Canadian population).
Day 7 Olympic TV Highlights: Team Canada versus Switzerland
An average of 6.2 million viewers watched Team Canada’s Mens Hockey team play Norway on Tuesday night with nearly 9 million watching the final minute of the game.
Todays scheduled television events include: Ladies 1000m speed skating, mens and womens curling, skeleton and, of course, Team Canada’s hockey game against Switzerland.
CTV programs to run on A channel during Olympics
CTV has announced that many of its top programs including “Grey’s Anatomy,” “American Idol,” “Lost,” “Desperate Housewives,” “Ghost Whisperer,” and “CSI” will air on the A Channel, except in the Atlantic, during the Olympics.
NFL and CTV extend multi-year broadcast deal
The National Football League and CTV have announced a four-year extension of its broadcast partnership which gives the network exclusive Canadian broadcast rights to the NFL championship game through to Super Bowl XLVIII.
Financial details of the deal which covers the 2010 to 2013 NFL seasons were not disclosed.
