Google cancels various underperforming products and services
In a blog posting this week, Google has announced the closure of a number of products and projects, including Google Gears, Knol, and Renewable Energy Cheaper than Coal, which the company says haven’t had the impact they had hoped for.
The announcement is the third such announcement by the search giant in the last three months.
HP discontinues HP Touchpad and webOS handsets
Hewlett-Packard (HP) announced today that it plans to discontinue its webOS based tablets and wireless phones.
webOS is a proprietary mobile operating system running on the Linux kernel, initially developed by Palm, which was acquired by Hewlett-Packard in April 2010 for $1.2 billion.
Bell Satellite cancels it Interactive TV service
In a recent note to its customers, Bell TV, Canada’s largest Direct-to-Home satellite Television provider, has said it will be cancelling its interactive TV service on August 18th.
