New Apple TV will sell for $119 in Canada
After months of rumours, Apple yesterday announced the new Apple TV, a slimmed down device which will give users in Canada and the U.S. the ability to rent HD movies from the iTunes store. Users in the U.S. will also have the ability to rent select HD shows from ABC, Fox and BBC America.
Apple says the new device will also let users stream content from Netflix, YouTube, Flickr and MobileMe, as well as music, photos and videos from a Windows PC or Apple Mac.
Apple offers free bumpers and refunds to any disgruntled iPhone 4 owners
At a press conference held today Apple CEO Steve Jobs acknowledged the iPhone 4 had some antenna problems but said similar problems affected all smartphones and that the problem had been greatly exaggerated.
“This has been blown so out of proportion that it is incredible,” said Mr. Jobs.

The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW) is reporting that Apple has now deleted discussion threads which talk about Consumer Reports recent decision to not recommend the iPhone 4 to its readers.
Apple offers free fix for faulty time capsules
Apple customers who purchased a defective Time Capsule between approximately February 2008 and June 2008 may be eligible for free repair or replacement according to an updated Apple support document.
The Time Capsule, introduced in 2008 and marketed by Apple as a “Backup Appliance”, is a wireless network-attached storage device which lets Mac Owners perform automated back-ups.
Apple promises software fix after iPhone 4 reception complaints
After a deluge of complaints about reception problems with its iPhone 4, Apple issued a statement saying it would be issuing a software fix in coming weeks that would change how the iPhone 4’s signal strength gets reported.
The change comes after the company says it discovered that signal strength was not dropping off as reported, rather the formula used to calculate how many bars of signal strength to display was totally wrong.
Apple iPhone 4 sets more sales records
Apple sold more 1.7 million units of the iPhone 4 in its first three days on-sale in the US, UK, France, Germany and Japan, the company said today.
In a statement, company CEO Steve Jobs said the iPhone 4 was now the most successful product launch in Apple’s history.
iPad sales reach three million units
The iPad has sold more than three million units since it first went on sale 80 days ago, Apple announced today.
The iPad was released on April 3rd in the United States and sold 300,000 units on its first day of sales. Since that first day the device has been selling an average of almost 35,000 units a day.
