Default 2nd TV setup problem on Bell 9242

Hi,

I have just had a Bell 9242 HD PVR installed by Bell. I am running two Standard TV's. Everything is great except the second TV the tech could not get working. It is an old Toshiba that was working fine with a Bell stand alone receiver. This TV only goes up to channel 66 then skips to 94. I have a newer small TV that I took out of our RV that works fine so the receiver is working with two Standard TV's.

Any suggestions for how I can get the older Toshiba to work properly?

Thanks,

Have you tried different channels ?
By default, I believe the 2nd tuner is set to output at channel 73, but you can try different channels by changing them in the menu.

There is a setting for air / cable and channel choices. I have tried a variety of combinations, but so far no luck.....

I have an older TV like this and I could only get it to work by hooking up a VCR. I tuned the VCR to 73 and output on channel 3 or 4 to TV.

Default Partial luck

I dragged our VCR in and hooked it up....but it also only goes up to ch 69. BUT I switched the signal to air and was able to get some signal. At times the colours are messed up (technical term) and it is not crystal clear, but was able to watch shows... now I guess I have to get a VCR with a tuner....

Have you tried the composite (RCA yellow/white/red) output for TV2 maybe?

We had a similar problem with a newer Samsung TV, since the channels between 70 and 80 are different - they show up as 70-01, 70-02,...80-01
The way we got it to work was to set signal to Air and changed the setting on the receiver for channel 60. Took us a while to figure out that channel 60 would work but it's working great now.

You might want to look at his previous posts, it will make everything clear. Or not.
