I just bought a Pioneer 160GB DVD Recorder (DVR-560H-K) and hooked it up to my parents home theatre.
The equipment they have is as follows: 1) 46 Sony Bravia V series 2) Bell Expressview HD box (non PVR version) 3) Sony HTIB 2.1 Channel system 4) Pioneer Recorder I currently have the RF external cable hooked into the Bell box and have a RF cable running out of the box and into the recorder. I also have an HDMI from the out on the Recorder that runs to the TV for Play back. For regular HD programming I'm using an HDMI cable out from the Bell box and into the Sony TV so all I have to do is tune into that input when I watch TV. The issue is this: The way I have it hooked up I have to have the Pioneer recorder tuned to channel 3 and the HD box has to be tuned to the appropriate channel to record...which means if I do any programmed recordings I have to make sure the HD box is at the right channel everytime. Basically I'm wondering is there a better way to hook this up with good quality output? |

See the following post for connections and you should be able to set a "VCR timer" on the HD STB to match the one on the recorder. You currently are not getting stereo sound to the recorder due to RF-coax, or the best PQ.
