2. Can be. I've usually found 24 and The OC to be fairly good quality on Fox, but it is EDTV widescreen (480P), not HDTV - as was stated earlier.

Even LOTR: Two Towers on HD-PPV had hundreds of audio dropouts
I paid for that one to impress a guest instead of borrowing the DVD and it wasn't really much better and the dropouts were embarassing.

So, if you get a PPV, then have the audio problems, do you still have to pay for it?
I've never done a ppv - I'd rather go rent the dvd, watch it at my own leisure, maybe watch the extras, and I know it's gonna be DD5.1 or DTS, or whatever the box says - and then this would be another reason: technical problems. I doubt they give you a refund if they're experiencing "technical issues" - it's certainly gonna be up to you to pursue it, and if your time is worth money, you end up paying twice. |

Out of 4 free PPV movies. One got wiped out half way through by a thunderstorm. Another did not come on due to technical problems. I had to call and spend half an hour explaining the problem because the CSR had no idea what the problem was. Two movies were wrongly billed and I had to call twice to get the billing reversed. I was not impressed. Video store where are you?

Wow, you guys have the worst luck. Never had one problem renting a DVD (from Rogers)... not with late charges or bad discs or what have you. Never had a problem with PPV but I haven't tried HD-PPV... y'know, lack of selection and all.

We had a really great video store near here. Then Rogers had them kicked out of the plaza when their lease expired. I had problems with Rogers' rental policies too.
The good video store relocated but has not been doing well in the new location. Now I am moving and it will be a long drive so I will need to look for another independent. |

I'm really dissapointed that so many shows are failing to come on in full HD, coming in window-boxed, or coming in 4:3  |

I am getting very sick of paying full price for half service. When on the rare occasion there is a show in full HD I want to watch either the picture blacks out, Audio needs to be turned up full on one HD channel and then back down for another channel (dont ya hate when you forget to turn it down) or you lose both Audio and Picture. The only consistanly decent channel seems to be PBS and the demo channel (maybe it's just me)
It reminds me of when I was a kid holding the TV arial up and standing on one leg just so I could watch rockie and bull winkle. The only thing that has changed is I now have a bill of $100 a month and standing on one leg doesnt make a difference. |

Well ABC did a good job last night. Enemy of the State was in HD and 5.1
Silly City TV had it in ghetto 4:3 SD.
