Default Rogers 4250 SA cable box questions

Hi all,

I just purchased a tv (boxing day sale.. wee!) and the next thing I need to pick up is the rogers 4250 hdtv cable box.

But I have a few questions --

With the purchase of the SA 4250, upon authorizing the box, will I instantly receive the free hd channels and will I still be able to access my analog tv channels ?

Will I need to purchase an hdtv plan (currently have the basic analog cable plan) ?

Thanks

Yes you will still get the analog channels and you will also likely get some other digital channels such as timeshift channels.

You should get some, HD channels - including all OTA channels. I am not sure if you get a free preview for all channels. There are some new HD channels that are on free preview until March - Oasis, Treasure, etc. but the content on these channels is somewhat lacking.

You will get the major stations in HD for free (Global, FOX, ABC, NBC, etc) with the HD box, and you will likely get a free preview of the rest of the HD channels for free for the first 3 months (or longer), which will cost ~$9 a month after that.

That's great .

Now I just have to find a SA 4250 box.. Seems like I probably won't save the $100 being offered at Futureshop/Besbuy due to them being out of stock .

I'll keep looking and if all else fails, go to a Rogers Store.

See if they'll do a raincheck if you go in-store.
