Default SONY XBR4/5 Blurring, Trails

Im new here, and this topic probably was already discussed, but can anybody offer advice for blurring or trails. I have an XBR4 and especially with blu ray movies, sometimes I see trails or blurring on motion scenes. Is this a known problem that Sony would fix up, or would it just be my set? thanks everybody

this happens with blu-ray only? If yes, then I don't have the answer. However, I have an XBR5 in the office and the motion lag leaves trail regardless of input as long as there is fast motion on the screen.

With motion lag... there is nothing can be done about it.

Thanks Dave. Gonna have Sony tech come and check it out since it's still under warranty. What did help was I turned the noise reduction off. Was previously set to low (on Vivid picture), trailing has gone away quite a bit, but still see some of it. thanks again.

Didn't know you were using vivid before. Try this settings: movie mode, bring sharpness to about 30%, switch off anything "auto", bring the backlight to 60% max (if you watch the tv in the dark, bring it down to about 25%)

Based on your description, the blurring should be immensely reduced.

I've never noticed bad traling on even the cheapest of my previous lcd display's for Bluray HD content, I think any bluring that occurs is a pixel response time that doesn't function to it specs. Getting a tech to check it out should be considered IMO.
