Default sony kdl40w3000 ???

i went to the bay today to pick up a digital camera with my gift cards, i noticed they had a sony lcd, i believe it was the kdl40w3000, i asked the guy there a few questions about it but he knew nothing, from what i can gather in my research it is 1080p, i was thinking of getting this unit in an upgrade from my 42" 720p lg plasma as it seemed like a good deal at under $800, i cannot find much info online, my question is how does this tv compare to the kdl40xbr2, the house i am watching has the kdl40xbr2 unit and the picture is pretty good, i normally dont shop at the bay and the people i spoke with now nothing about what they are trying to sell, any comments appreciated, thanks, chris

after some more searching i think it must be the sony kdl40v3000 - would this still be a good deal @$800 and would it be that much of an improvement over my lg 42' plasma model 42pc3d ?

I don't think there will be much in your case unless your room is well lit like mine.

I have the Sony KDL-42V4100 which replaced my Samsung 42" CRT rear projection 1080i TV and huge difference for me.

If you search for the model number using wild cards "*W3000*", or even the exact model, you'll find several discussions on this forum. I have this TV and am quite pleased. I believe it was one step below the XBR4 when I purchased it and one step above the "V".
