The ceremonies are set to begin at 10:29 a.m. ET, the time the second tower of the World Trade Center fell after being struck by hijacked airliners.

You guys think they'll turn the site into a memorial park or replace the towers?

I think it will be somewhat of a combination.
There will be some sort of permanent memorial there.
But at the same time the real estate is needed and valuable, but I think they will build eventually only around the outskirts of it, and whatever is built, will not be as tall. The land that was affected is quite a fair bit of real estate. But I think at the center of both towers there will be a memorial site.

I would love nothing more than putting up the towers again, although not on that now hallowed ground, but like I say perhaps on the outskirts
of the original sites.
There is a strong sentiment that calls for rebuilding both towers to show that terrorism will not change our way of life.
I agree but don't think it will happen, and further, am not so sure that sentiment aside, it would be the smartest thing to do.

I saw this guy on FOX News promoting this plan. It is rather ambitious to say the least. It seems to have it all. And a price tag of around $5 Billion!
He was asked if he thought people would feel like targets in there and he said no. They will use sound waves to prevent planes from approaching the buildings.
It is a pretty neat concept. Although I don't think this is what will eventually be, it is a fascinating concept. I can't get the videos to run from their web site, but I saw some of it on FOX and it really is unique.
Check this out and then leave your thoughts here.

It sounds stupid but you're reply made me think.

Why couldn't they outfit planes (or any vehicle ) with kill devices like the ones where cops could stop your car immediately by sending out an electronic pulse.

Whoops! My brain caught up. Then all the terrorists would need is a kill switch.

As Roseanne Rosanadanna would say, "nevermind"
