Question SA3250 Remote - 6 pin connector

Just replaced the batteries in my SA3250's (5 button) remote and noticed a 6 pin connector above the batteries. It is labeled "JP 1.3" on the circuitboard.

Idle curiosity prompts me to ask what this is for. Does anyone know:
1) what this is for?
2) where to find the answer to this?

I checked the manual -- nothing.
I did a search here -- I never seem to find anything I search for here maybe my terms are wrong?

It is a JP1 connector, it allows for detailed customization of the remote from a PC providing you get or make the right cable. Many moons ago I spent quite a bit of time programming a JP1 radio shack remote. It was fun but quite a bit more work then just buying a Harmony.

See here for more detailed info on JP1:

I did a search for the term "JP1*" and found several threads. Here's an example:

Here's a thread that contains search tips and other useful info:

Thanks for the suggestions 57. The trouble in searching is that you need to know what you are looking for...

In this particular case I searched for various combinations of the words "Remote, Attachment, Plug, SA3250" and got "Sorry - no matches. Please try some different terms." each time.

I really didn't think the term "JP 1.3" (with a space between P and 1 as I quoted in the OP) was relevant to my question but I just tried it now, and got the same "Sorry - no..."

There is no way that I would have thought to look for "JP1*" or even for "jp1.3" without the space that's on the circuit board. These are the only searches that give me any hits at all.

Now I am going to read a bit and try to figure out what a JP1 remote is.

1. Make sure you don't have the commas in your searches.

2. When searching try to put asterisks at the start and end of terms that can vary. For example *3250* will find SA3250, SA3250HD, 3250HD, etc. For attachment used attach*, etc.

No, I didn't put commas I just used those words in different combinations.

I think you may have put your finger on it though...Are you saying that if I only search for "attach" without the asterisk, I will NOT find "attachment"?

Please take the time to read the search tips I already provided in my previous link (the second link of post 3 has search tips, as does the following:

http://www.digitalhome.ca/forum/showthread.php?t=82710

I think you can answer the question about "attach" for yourself.
