I am a proud Canadian who likes to buy Canadian products ( manufactured or designed in Canada). I know NAD receivers get a lot of mixed reviews regarding a hum problem but also how great they sound at the same time!
My question: Is this an old problem or still an issue with 2008 products? I suppose only new owners of NAD receivers can really answer this question. I would like to here from anyone with any comments on these products good or bad. P.S. Nad located in Ontario , I also like many USA products as well. Thanks Bob |

Hey Bob.
I had a NAD T773 for 2 years. It was the best piece of gear I've ever owned (Right up there with my 360 and Elite Kuro 151HD). I too was proud to buy Canadian. Never had a problem with it. I had a slight hum after a bit but it was due to poor speaker wiring. Put on some banana plugs, fixed it fine. I'd buy NAD again and plan to buy soon. |

After a lot of searching on Google I found the following article:
http://www.audioholics.com/tweaks/co...m-hum-and-buzz This problem seems to happen on many different brands not just NAD Receivers. The above article was too large to cut and paste but is worth while to read if anyone has ever had a hum problem. Most NAD owners swear the sound quality is great and seem to solve the hum problem sooner or later. I am not saying all NAD recievers have this issue by any means they just seem to get a lot of internet forum coverage is all. In all my searching I have not noticed this problem with the higher priced NAD receivers as well. Keep your comments coming - Thanks very much Bob |

I thought NAD was originally from the UK?

I know that the basic design goals of the Nad receivers is very similar to
all the good British Audio devices -- good quality sound before all else! So I am not too surprised to here there origins are from U.K. In fact the 4 brands I like are Cambridge,Nad,Sherwood( Newcastle) and Rotel. (Nad is part of Lenbrook group) Reality is that Many Receivers and speakers are now made in Asia in order for them to be price competitive. I am still curious about hum problems that users may have and how they solve this issue. Thanks Bob |
