Default Samsung now producing 256GB solid state drives

Samsung said this week it has begun mass producing 256 gigabyte (GB) solid state drives for use in notebooks and desktop PCs.

Quote:
Although much more expensive than conventional hard drives, solid state drives (SSD) are expected to become commonplace in coming years because these flash memory drives use less power than traditional drives while offering greater reliability and performance.
