Default In HD: Bones (Spoilers)

Seeing that there was hardly anything on TV tonight I thought I would give "Bones" a try. It seems to be another slick, gimmicky crime show e.g. fairly young attractive actors who come to amazing deductions how a crime was committed and quickly solve it.
In tonight's episode, the FBI guy and the forensic doctor are watching a video of a father teaching his son to ride a bike. At first, it appears that the mother is shooting the video as it is seen from her perspective. Then it switches to the dad and the mother isn't holding a video camera! So, who is filming the event? This is never explained or did I miss something?
Furthermore, it is never explained who killed the mother or is this a continuing story? It concludes with a shoot-out and you have to assume these are the "bad guys" that are responsible for the woman being killed and the kidnapping of her son. However, there are a lot of loose ends that are left up in the air! This is the first "Bones" I've seen so I don't know the format.

If ever you are going to spill a storyline...PLEASE put "Spoiler Alert" in the title of your thread.

Bones is actually a pretty good show. If you watch a few episodes and pay attention to the characters you might find yourself enjoying it. The program is based in the real world to some extent because the female lead is a sort of autubiographical model of Kathy Reichs, a genuine Brainiac forensic pathologist. What I like about the show is the portrayal of geeks with approximately real lives. They are appealing and vulnerable and I like 'em.

Last night's show was a re-run. It seems that this season, there are very few new episodes being shown, and each one is interspersed with a couple of re-runs in between. I like the show because of the interaction between Bones and Booths.

You guys have convinced me to give it another shot. I will be extra careful not to spill the beans if I comment on it!

This is normal for Fox because they host the baseball playoffs and World Series.

We are still watching this show, but the new "let's catch you up" recap crap at the half way point is annoying.

Geez, I just watched the first half of the show and you have to do a recap? Are you assuming my attention span is so slow low that I can't remember?

For me the most annoying part about all of these shows is that the bad guy/gal always decide to confess at the end of the show with no interrogation at all

Super annoying season premiere opening scenes. I expect better from Kathy Reichs who is involved with every single episode.

The scene of Bones in Maluku (Indonesia) is all wrong. The tribes mentioned don't exist, she's driving a car with a license plate starts with 'D' which in Indonesia means it's from Bandung, a metropolitan city in a completely different island (island of Java, to be exact) which if the car is truly from there, she'll need to drive at least 24 hours to the edge of Java island, take a ferry to Bali, drive across Bali, take another ferry to the islands of Maluku. Gaaah! It'll be easier for her to fly from the US to Bali which license plate should be DK.

Rant over. Bones is hot. Her sister is too.

I like Bones too,but can the Toyota product placement be any more blatent ?? One recent episode was an hour long Prius commercial !

..just like Hawaii 5-O is a 50 minute Chevy commercial (ten minutes for Bing and a few other products.)

Yup. The same thing with Kirsten Gum's Treasure program and Cesar Milan's Dog Whisperer. Suddenly "everybody" drives a Toyota.

.....everybody in fantasy world known at TV Land, that is! In the real world, they may be having challenges getting as many people to get behind the wheel of one of their products these days......
