Guidelines for Posting Negative Reviews
The truth is no retailer or service provider is perfect and occasionally even the best companies can disappoint. Our experience is that good companies have problems but they typically make every reasonable effort to resolve problems. If you had a problem and are posting a negative review, then please note what efforts you made to resolve the problem and the feedback you received. If you think the efforts to resolve the problem were NOT reasonable then please explain why. Saying you phoned up and talked to some idiot, suggests the problem may lie with the consumer and NOT the company! No posting URLS or Directs to Competitors will be deleted Posts containing URL's to competitors or posts saying gee you should have shopped at this retailer will be considered spam and deleted. We want opinions, NOT sales pitches or spam! |

My experience with Aden Camera was very positive. I bought a Canon EOS 50D online. I then called them to ask about shipping dates. They were very helpful and because I lived only 1 hour away from their Pacific Mall store, they sent the camera there the next day for me so I could instead pick it up. Danny was very helpful and showed me some of the more abstract functions of the camera I might have trouble with.
They did not oversell me and even offered to knock 20% off the price of a filter I wanted without me even asking. When I commented on some of the negative feedback found on the web about them, he told me they have all different staff now and new owners who are really trying to overcome the negative comments. And just so you know... they were definitly the cheapest price on the web. They were over $90 less than a leading online camera store from London Ontario. The London website would not even match Aden Camera's prices. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Adencamera.com Thanks Danny for the great service. |

I've bought a couple of items that turned out to be grey-market. No more Aden for me.

Aden...Pacific Mall...grey market...these things all belong together.
If things have really changed so totally, why not change the business name? [For those too young to remember, Aden (the country) was perhaps the original place to buy cheap *genuine* goods. The last time I was there, just before it ceased to exist, people were shooting at us LOL. You want cheap, you take some risks... |

They were not very enthusiastic, but I accepted that as being the typical attitude from Hong Kong. So I actually ended up buying the camera from one of their competitors in Richmond Hill (also from Hong Kong I think, but at least friendlier). |

Apparently the mixed in their stock between grey and fully-legit units. I've bought more than just two items from them but two of them turned out to be grey market when I brought them in for service (both of them happen to be Nikon point and shoot I bought for my parents several years ago). The other items I bought from them (another Nikon point and shoot and a couple of Canon point and shoots) are legit.
Again, this is during the APS film era. Maybe they've changed their practice for the better.

I'd be very surprised if anything they carry is grey market. I bought a Canon 40D last summer from Eddie--excellent prices and knowledge--which also had all the official Canon rebates attached.
All research I've done says they are legit dealer for their lines. |

I ordered a D7000 on line December 24 2011.
Camera was delivered to my home Wednesday 28. Considering that Christmas was in between I think this is excellent service. Following this post I looked at what I received to ensure NOT gray market. All documentation is in English and French. Warranty card stamped importer is Nikon Canada. Large round black, red and gold embossed sticker on the camera box printed with Nikon Canada waraanty 2 years in English and French. All is good Last edited by andylope; 2012-01-03 at 07:19 PM. Reason: Added grey market comment |
