I'm currently on *choice in Calgary and not loving it so much and I'm considering the switch to BEV. One thing that I'm wondering...does BEV black out the Canucks games that are on SNETP (and occasionally on the alternate SNET HD channel) or do they do as *choice does and let you watch it all?
My reasons for considering the switch are that *choice HD programming is lacking in comparison, they just dumped a firware on us that renders my htr useless (but it's all my fault according to them), and the price of their hd pvr is completely ridiculous for something so outdated, 700 beans!!! I work evenings and want to be able record my team so I can watch when I get home. |

Blackouts are typically not set by the provider but are set by the franchise and/or NHL.

My point, if you read my post, is that Starchoice has not blacked out Canucks games in Calgary for the 3 years I have been a subscriber. All I want to know is if Bell does or doesn't. Thanks for your feedback, as helpful as it was.

Bell will block the Spac feed for the Canucks games as Calgary is outside the local broadcast area for them. I found this out when I wanted to watch an oilers game that was on Swest.
This is an NHL rights rule. I have noticed that Shaw/*choice don't do as much of the signal substitutions as they are supposed to, which is why I assume you have been able to watch the games. If you want yo watch the games you might need to subscribe to center ice |

Boooooo. That's the deal breaker for me, even though the Bell pvr looks like it blows away the *choice antiquated dinosaur overpriced version.
Funny thing, I never thought about the Oilers, we get all their games too. |

Starchoice does the samething. Sportsnet can't show games NATIONALLY. TSN paid big $$$ to show games NATIONALLY. |

Those games on Starchoice are supposed to be blacked out, however there must be a glitch that allows you to get those games. If you were to signup with starchoice today, those games would not be available.
