prob a silly questions but i assume all PS3 games will play full screen HD on a PS3 connected to a 720p/1080i Plasma when connected via HDMI?

Looking to buy used games but just wanted to make sure...

ALL PS3 and 360 games are at least 720p

I'm not sure if that's entirely correct. A quick search reveals that several games may be rendered lower than 720p.

But to answer the OP's question:

Yes, they will play full screen.

Consider that HAZE is in 420p

GTA 4 is rendered below 720p then upsampled.

im actually disappointed by the lack of 1080p titles out there...

They always make a big deal about the cheap downloadable games being 1080p. But the graphics are usually cartoony, so the 1080p doesn't make a difference.

At the end of the day, it's all about smooth gameplay. I feel the graphics on these latest gen machines were somewhat exaggerated.

There are few 1080p games on any system. 720p is the most you can hope for natively and that is even not a given.
