I've got two tickets open with them right now.

At least they admitted a few months ago to one of the problems I was having. I kept seeing strange calls in my call log. My phone would ring late at night. Sometimes after midnight. They admitted they were using my number for testing. Since then the testing seems to have stopped thankfully. I don't know what they were testing.

My outstanding tickets are the Caller ID plus the Australia error. It's funny how I was connected to an Ottawa number, but the log states Australia. The wires are crossed somewhere. Neither of my tickets were responded to, so they must have tons of complaints to deal with. Maybe something positive will come out of this and they'll do some testing. Even very basic testing should catch these issues. I only make 1 or 2 calls per day. If I'm finding things at this small rate, it begs the question as to how much testing is being done.

It seems the Montreal server is completely down tonight. Both me and my friend had no phone service until we switched to the Toronto server. No status on the voip.ms website indicating a problem.

Are you trying using 67.205.74.164? Or are you using the DNS? We are using the IP address.

Both the hostname and IP seem to work from BC.

Well I just checked again and it's back in service. I rebooted everything several times. This just reconnected a few minutes ago.

Glad to hear everything's sorted

EDIT: I should have said, "Glad to hear CA1 is working for you again" as both of us have open tickets :P

I heard from them today regarding the Australia charge and the broken caller id. They said they would look into these issues soon.

You would use any standard microphone and speakers, or headset attached to your computer. If you're in the market for a softphone, Zoiper is a good one.

Thanks for the reply. So to get this straight. I download Zoiper, sign up for voip.ms and im good. I would have to buy a headset and microphone.

dumb question. How far can you walk away from your computer? Canyou sit in another room?
