I checked my line (after seeing all the comments about DID being down) and sure enough, mine is down too. I just tried from work and have not performed any troubleshooting yet. It happened once back in October and a quick call to voip.ms resolved it fairly quickly for me. This time around it appears to be more general in nature.

For those of you who have DIDs that do not work, were the DIDs ported or assigned by VoIP.ms?
If they were assigned, what is the area code and next three digits? If they ported, when were they ported? Please update us and let us know what VoIP.ms says. m.

Support advises that it is a DID carrier issue with several DIDs affected. IIRC, my DID carrier is Globility. DID is down for 48 hrs now.

Early June, that must have been before they started using ISP Telecom.
I haven't heard of Globility before.

I have a few ported Rogers number that were hit or miss over the weekend and as of today are total gone, nothing of a busy signal. for all inbound calling.
But all my Toronto numbers that were ported from Bell are fine. |

I received an email a few mins ago from voip.ms letting me know about the issue (I never contacted them). They said my DID was one of 25 affected and that it has now been resolved and it will be moved over to a more reliable provider to prevent this from happening again.
Tested by calling my home number, it now rings, but since I'm not home, I have no way of really confirming that it works. By moving to the other provider, does this mean that my monthly fee will drop? I pay $1.99/month. It's now $1.49 for Toronto.... |

Just called home, and it works, but a few minutes ago, nothing but a busy signal.
Glad to see they have resolved it. |

VOIP.ms does not offer DID in newfoundland (709). What are my options other than voip.ms?

Received the same message about the internal port, I'm happy to see they're taking such an outage seriously.
I'm curious, how do you determine which carrier your DID is currently riding on? I had asked Voip.ms once but they declined to tell me for non-disclosure reasons. |

Submitted my port to voip.ms today. Porting from Rogers home phone so let's see how long it takes.
Question: if voip.ms goes out of business, does that mean I will lose my number? |

I don't think I've ever heard of anyone losing a number because of carrier failure. I think people have always been able to port out. |

Would you happen to have the link to the directory readily available?
