Question Which Manufacturer provides in-home HDTV repair service?

I want to buy a 40-42" LCD TV.

I will have to borrow a vehicle just to buy the thing, and if it breaks then it will be a big hassle to take it in for service.

Which manufacturers will send someone to my house to fix my LCD TV? If I buy an extended warranty (normally I wouldn't but I might in this case) will that get me more in home service?

One reason I ask is because my last LCD TV - a viewsonic - died after 1-2 years and this was a big hassle. Also, I'm thinking of buying a Westinghouse because of their price and their <1W sleep mode feature, but I have the impression that they are not the most reliable TV's.

If warranty and service is high on your list I would spend a little more and get a name brand, generally speaking the name brands have better repair and warranty service.

Sony will send a service person to your house free of charge for the first year to assist in any problems.

probably depends where you live though as the op hasn't provided a location. Can't imagine Sony sending a tech to Moosonee just to look at a tv
