Hi Kaoru,
I am looking for Home Theater Seats and I saw the seats you have. Can you tell me who they are made by and where you purchased them and how comfortable they are. All of the seats I have seen in stores are not that comfortable and seen kind of flimsy, accept for the Lazy-Boys, but they are pretty pricey. Thanks |

My suggestion is to look arround on the web. You can go to Home Theater Authority which sell/ship to Canada. From their website, they seem to have a good selection of Berklines and Coasters. Cheers, Kaoru

Check out Costco.ca. They have seating for HT rooms.

![]() How is the reclining mechanism on these? How hard is it to flip out the leg rest on those chairs? I am about 3 weeks away from finishing the construction of my HT room, and thinking about a 4 seater.... We have a 3 seater leather lazyboy couch in our main family room, but laz-y-boys have the lever to flip the legs up..... Only the outside seats recline.... P

I like those even if COSTCO has nice ones, this looks a lot more like it! Hey, make your choice you want the living room or HT room look

Serge (DHC and AVS name: power) runs HTAuthority, looking on the web, it's based in Detroit/Windsor....
I would definitely need to speak with the CFO if I were to buy them now.... looks to be about $2800cdn for a 4 seater..... There is a thread on the AVSforum site about a recent (Sept 2008) powerbuy..... P

If we could start a thread seeking SERIOUS buyers only, we could then work on getting the pricing down as I pointed out the economy is in our favor. I wonder if admin would allow such thread? Or would this be in DHCs favor (business wise) to seek in the name of DHC members/potential buyers? Admin, mod comments?
Cheers! René |

One of the reasons I bought these seats was because of how they recline. There's a pull latch/lever on the inside of the arm rest. When you pull it, the mechanism is spring tensioned so you recline very quickly to the legs raised position. If you want to full recline position (which is almost like a bed!) you just raise your arms and stretch out. That's easy... But unfortunately the reverse is somewhat harder. To un-recline you have to push the foot rest back into position. Because of the spring, it takes a little bit of strength in your lower legs. Easy for an adult (who is use to it) but for kids it's difficult. I don't know about other theater seating but I'm extremely happy with my Showtimes. They're confortable and all recline. Also, the Showtime model only requires 3" clearance in the back which was very important in my HT due to lack of space. You do however require enough space between rows for the recline (and obviously their feet).
Cheers, Kaoru

I will need two rows of seating for my soon to be completed theater (120" 1080P FP, room 14'x18'x9'). I would love to see some pricing.
How do you think those coasters would fit a tall guy? I'm 6'7"... |

I stopped in at the Local Laz-y-boy store in Kitchener last night, I checked out the 4 seater arrangement.
Pros: -full leather -comfortable - narrow (111" front, 120ish" at the back) Chairs were in arc. (the setup they had didn't have the armrest in between seats 2&3 Cons price - $about 4200 seats extend out the back quite a bit compared to the standard lazyboy sliders. 10+ week lead time for delivery Will keep looking

Ordered my Showtime seats today, 2 rows of 4 seats. Very easy to deal with Serge and he expects them to be delivered in 2 weeks.
