On another note

Anyone annoyed how they completely skipped Olivia going to the Twin Towers ... I was sooo annoyed i wanted to see more neat shots and some discusion with spock!!

Yea I was so looking forward to that part, and I thought that was how the season would start. Even after it started with her coming back to the "real world" I was hoping they would use flashbacks to show what happened. Oh well maybe they will this week.

Well according to Ausiello you will definitely
see more of Olivia in the other universe later in the season, just not necessarily next week
.

Just saw this week's episode. I'm not impressed with how easily Charlie lives his new life. How does he get along with his family? How does he know how to get to the office? How does he know how to finish that last report? When he was driving with Olivia in that one scene, how did he know where to go?

It's too hard to get someone to take over a full life. Maybe if they threw in some explanations. Maybe if Charlie was given a leave from work. Otherwise, someone should have put the stop to this idea when it was first proposed.

Maybe the shapeshifter gets the person's memories when they kill him/her.

BTW, did anyone notice the CN train at the start of the show on Thursday (Fringe is filmed in Vancouver).

Thanks. That's as plausible an explanation as I needed. Pretty serious if it's how shapeshifting would work.

And I did notice the CN train. Stuck out so much that I kept thinking after that scene that "Pennsylvania" was actually somewhere in Canada.

Although that CN train is in Vancouver, it won't seem out of place for US viewers. CN owns a serious amount of track in the US, and they use CN locomotives in the US.

I doubt that need a spoiler tag as it wasn't exactly a key element of the show, but it was indeed a funny scene. My wife collects cows (stuffed, ceramic, etc) so it was particularly funny in our household.

I found the episode to be good. It moved along well and seemed to provide a solid story.

That episode didn't feel like it was connected to The Pattern. Who was the colonel trying to bomb and why? If he was targeting those guys with a suitcase, the 2nd one walked away from the girl and he didn't seem bothered by that.

The connection to the pattern - the briefcase contains intellegency on us, and it was given to the bald headed guy. It was implied in season 1 that the bald headed guy is connected to other things that are happening.

It is also nice in that the assertation that "they are here" works well with the earlier episode with the changeling.

However, I have to agree, they are going all over the place with this series. Can't get a coherent view of what is happening - are there serveral things happening? Are the "others" from Spock's universe, or are there other universes sending intruders? If Spock's universe is so slimilar to ours, it might be safe to assume that they don't have the technology for the changeling, which implies that things are headed towards a major headache trying to figure it out.....

Except that the 2nd guy with a suitcase walked away from the girl as she was building up her explosive nature and the Colonel didn't seem bothered by that. That's why I wasn't sure if the suitcase was the real target.

The end of the episode showed the briefcase being given to the bald headed guy, who opened it and looked at photos of Walter, while the voice over was talking about "them" being here, watching us, gathering intel, etc.

That ties them together, as far as I can see, and it makes it clear that the briefcase is being used as a secure communications channel.

What gets me is that the Colonel only had four people to use. If there is an army here, interrupting communications four times isn't much. Also, they don't even start to explain how the Colonel knew about the briefcase or the courier carrying it. And it seems like he never considered taking out the courier instead.........

Doesn't your house fill up rather quickly...I would think a stuffed cow takes up a lot of room
