Movie Central Finally Gets Warner Bros Movies in HD - Canadian TV, Computing and Home Theatre Forums

After missing out on such movies as 300, Blood Diamond, the Harry Potter movies, Superman Returns and Batman Begins in HD it looks like Movie Central will be showing Warner Bros movies in HD finally. Just saw an ad for I am Legend on MCHD coming in October.

They finally started showing Paramount movies in HD about 6 months ago. The only major thing missing are Disney movies, which aren't even available in SD.

Are you sure about that? This link of October movies does list I Am Legend but there is no (HD) beside it like the other movies.

I checked that out myself on there site but the ad that I saw for I am Legend was on the HD channel and of course was in HD (and OAR to boot).

I've seen a lot of OAR ads on MC and the actual movie was pan & scan 4:3 (non HD) or 16:9 reformat in HD. We'll have to wait another month to figure out this one.

Well I can't believe it, but it looks like I was wrong since I am Legend is not in the October schedule for MC-HD.

Why would they advertise a movie on the HD channel such as I am Legend, with an HD trailer, and then not show it on the HD channel. I have never seen that before.

I will be sending them an email to question them why.

I have been seeing alot of WB movies on the Encore Avenue HD channel, and I thought maybe the two would go hand in hand with new releases, but no.

Ok, now it looks like Movie Central has some got has Warner Bros movies in HD starting in December.

Old movies that have already run on the SD channels new to HD channel

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix - Dec. 6
300 - Dec 31
Nancy Drew - Dec 6
Oceans 13 - Dec 13

New movies

The Bucket List - Dec 26
Lost Boys: The Tribe on Dec 13.

Better late than never.

This is long over due, 300 was actually on MC a few weeks ago in HD.
