Default TSN2 begins August 29th

As of today i have not seen anything about Rogers carrying the signal. I could see why they wouldn't as it would mean less competion for them. But if they7 don't I would strongly consider going to satelite, either Bell or Star Choice, whoever gives the better service, lol.

"I am pretty sure that TSN2 would love to show 50-100% of exclusive content. As far as i know that are not allowed to do so, thanks to the CRTC. Same problem that CBC faces with their sports channel. They are only allowed a certain percentage of live or exclusive events."

I really can not understand this stupid regulation from CRTC. Live events are the life of a sport channel. Why should it do this?

Because nothing's so simple. The CRTC is trying to balance the licensing commitments made to Score and Sportsnet with those of TSN.

Its unlikely TSN2 will be much more than an overflow channel for TSN. Why would want it to be more than that? - they would only be competing with themselves. They will need a substantial change to the terms of their license for anything different to happen.

I hope the big fellas (Rogers, Bell, Shaw) put their foot down with TSN on this one. Customers want the channel but customers also don't want to be bent over... I can tell you that the terms asked for by TSN are not terribly attractive. If you put enough pressure on your providers, I'm sure eventually they will cave to CTV/TSN, and then you'll scream bloody murder when your rates go up.

It appears that TSN2 is just a rehash of TSN with the odd bit of new programing. This may have had some appeal when free but not the same when paying for it. Just another money grab by the private broadcasters.

Default Access (Regina)

I see that Access should have TSN2 on 264 - but there is no listings under this chanel right now?

I just check Zap-2-it and canada.com tv listings - and there is no channel 264 listed?

When will they begin broadcasting this channel?

any ideas?
