Default Sony KDLS3000 slow power up

I have a Sony KDLS3000. I takes about 10 seconds to start up. It takes just as long cold as if it was on for a while. I think it used to be a little quicker (7 seconds). Are Sony's known for this? I had a Sharp Aquos and it was a bit quicker when cold, but when it had been on, turning it off and on would only take a couple of seconds.

How long do your TVs take to turn on?

10 seconds is not a long time. I would get worried if it started to take longer and longer (like minutes) to come on.

I know 10 seconds isn't long....but it is kinda annoying. I am not sure if it was a Sony thing. My Sharp wasn't like this and my friends Samsung takes about 3 seconds.

Well I went to Future Shop and tried out a bunch of sets. I turned off then back on again pretty much every TV (I felt like an idiot), The Sonys are all very slow. The V and W series were OK (about 5 seconds) but new N and S series were very slow (almost 15 seconds). The Samsungs, Toshibas, Panasonics, Sharps, LGs, were all pretty fast (about 3 seconds). Like I said not a huge issue, just was curious if my set was defective. It does seem a bit slower than when it was new (six months ago) but it seems well withing the normal "Sony" range.

Guzman,my experience with Sony is that their sets have always been slow to turn on. This goes back to my original 21, 28 and 32 inch XBR CRT sets (over 15 years) and my current SXRD HDTV. No idea why but perhaps the set is equalizing something (voltage?) to reduce the strain of starting up. A similar wait occurs with Home Theatre receivers by the way.
