Default Using sat finder SF3000E with *choice

I am using an SF3000E finder and I need the tuning parms for it. Like the LO(LBNF) the Symbol rate and other info. My installer has no clue what I'm talking about because his meter came preprogrammed...........Any help would be appreciated.

If you already are set up, or have access to a system, there are sections for symbol rate and frequency under the manual tune menu (options 6-4-9-8-8-1 on dsr207/317/505/530), if that helps. I really don't know what most of the stuff in that menu is.

Default manual tune menu

TJ thanks for the info, I have a working system that I take on the road with me. I need to set up a number of times on a normal trip. Bought the meter thinking it would help in tunning..... The menu you provided is not on my dsr505 it only goes to 8 not nine (6-4-9-8-8-1.

Thanks for your help.

it's a hidden menu. Press that sequence quickly and it will appear.

Default tuning parameters

a good place to find this info is lyngsat.com just click on america for the frequencies and then on anik f1 and anik f2 for the transponder plans. the sf3000 won't give you a signal lock since it's made for dvb type of signals and doesn't know how to decode the digicipher 2 type of signal that starchoice uses. you will find one transponder on f1 that does have dvb signals, however it is occasional feeds and may not be there all time. the f2 satellite has more dvb type of feeds but the only one that's there all the time is a lot weaker than the starchoice transponders which makes it a lot more difficult to find the satellite. the only meter that i've found that can actually lock onto the starchoice transponders and give you a true digital signal quality number is the super buddy from applied instruments.

Default SF 3000E

TJ thanks I found the menu.

Lonnie, that answers all the questions, makes sense I'll see if I can use the dvb signal, bad purchase on my part. I've tried everything at this point, think its time to go back to analog meter..

Thanks everyone for your inputs.
