Hi all,
This is my first post on this forum. It's a great place to get info and ideas. Seeing pics of some of your HTs is inspiring. I'm finishing my basement right now, drywall is up and will soon begin taping & mudding. The primary space will be a HT area with an ajoining bar/kitchenette. Waiting patiently for the new Panasonic plasma 58 PZ800/850 in the fall Any personal experience/regets from a HT point of view would be appreciated. |

Go ahead with the hardwood. With those big windows and that patio door, it isn't really going to make a difference for the HT experience.

An area rug will definitely help.
Since it sounds like there will be other stuff going on in that room the hardwood is probably a good choice. One other thing to consider it cork. We took a long look at that as an option. |

Heavy drapes and sound absorbing material on the walls can help as well. I would put an area mat in front of the speakers to reduce sound reflection.

And it can really tie a room together. |
