Anyone else having problems with SOD in Winnipeg

I have troubles with the picture and sound when I order through Shaw on Demand. Every few minutes the picture fragments. I have mentioned this to Shaw and they say since the service is new to Winnipeg they are still working out the bugs. In the meantime this is very annoying.
Anyway, I was just wondering if anyone else was experiencing this as well.

I have 2 dcts and one is hooked through the dct to the vcr then to the tv and the other one is hooked from the dct straight to the tv and I notice on the one with the VCR the picture sometimes goes black and white and I have to shut the vcr off then on or retune my dct or physically unhook the cable from the dct and reconnect and audio always glitches.

Just wondering, when you put it on channel 999, what does it say on the left, what VOD are you on, I live in North East and I get VOD-04 but others in other areas get VOD-03 and Shaw at KP gets VOD-01, It may be related to the grid areas of the city like their internet service

Hi Shawguy, I'll check when I get home tonight but I am pretty sure I saw something that said I was connected to VOD-04.
I live in the SouthEast are of Winnipeg.

Shaw e-mailed a VOD coupon so I took the bait and used SOD for the first time to-nite. LoRTT popped up just like it was supposed to. No drop outs or glitches, I couldn't use my remote to control the movie and as my HT is one floor removed from the office I had to run up and down stairs to pause RW etc but it all worked OK. Pretty slick I must say. No 5.1. Old Dct1000 but it still worked. This could be habit forming......

On channel 999, you have the SOD info channel on the east side, but when I call shaw customer service which is on the west they get "this channel should be available shortly" Is this only working on the east side or can anyone on the west confirm that channel 999 is the SOD info channel.

Shawguy,I'm on the west side. When I started the movie my stb was on channel 7. I don't think it matters what channel you have the box on, but I could be talking thru my hat. Ch 999 is where the run their loop promo for SOD and it has a big VOD-4 in the upper corner.

Hi all. Well now my problem is even more severe! I can no longer get SOD to work! Up until this week end I could order and it was an instant on situation to the T.V., now - nothing. I have mentioned this to Shaw so far it still doesn't work (after several attempts, retuning etc.) It shows on my PC that the order is confirmed, just like before but it just won't come on.
Is anyone else having this problem or do you think my Digital Box is fried?

Oh, another thing, can anyone tell me if they can now control a SOD movie with their remotes? Or do you still have to control through the PC? Again, Winnipeg region only.

I thought it was just me, but I tried to order a Music Video tonight and when I ordered it, my DCT would not change the channel, I clicked re-tune and nothing, it says you can use your remote but I can't confirm as nothing will come up on my DCT. It worked before (last week on Sat) but now nothing, it does not work.

I have a DCT 2000HT and live on the East side.

Thank you for confirming it is not only me that is having this problem.

Question: When you had VOD, did the audio STILL glich or it go b&W because I think they haven't addressed this problem yet, you would think before they offficially launch something they would make sure it works properly. I personally would never order something I would have to pay for on VOD until it works perfectly and I can control the play, FF, REW on my Remote Control!!

Hi Shawguy. My picture would not go to black & white it would just chop up for a split second and then it would return to normal, the sound would also glitch for a second. This happened every few minutes. Now I can't test since I can't even get the thing to work!
Well, at least you confirmed it's not just me. I'm calling Shaw tomorrow to see what's up.

Crazycanuck - Had Shaw download the configuation for the DCT2000 remotes a couple of days ago. All three of my boxes appear to work with their remotes for things like pause, play & rewind. You can request this online when you sample some of the Free music videos from the SOD site. They do the downloads during the daytime.
